Stress Management – Ten Good Actions to Lower Stress Resulting From Your Online Business

A lot of us decide to work at home to reduce the many difficulties resulting from the typical nine-to-five job – issues like an unreasonable supervisor, too much to do and/or unworkable deadlines.

But, we may soon learn that working from home creates its own issues.  So, how do we deal with these brand-new issues?

1.  Organize A Pleasant Office At Home

Make sure you’ve got a dedicated workspace, with all the required equipment like telephone, computer, printer, fax, etc . You will need a comfortable chair and a good desk.  You can make your home office more pleasant by ensuring that you have lots of space, plenty of light – and, if you are a feng shui afficienado, have somebody come in and feng shui your office!

2.  Delete Unnecessary Activities

Go through your “To-Do” List and delete anything that actually doesn’t fit on the list, or anything that doesn’t absolutely need to be performed.  Be ruthless in your actions – eliminate as much unnecessary effort as possible.  Reducing your list will not only save you the effort you would spend attempting to complete those tasks – it will also save you the strain and physical problems associated with stressing about those unnecessary jobs.

3.  Acquire Required Tools and Equipment

The right tools and equipment make any task much simpler.  Spend the cash to get the basic tools and equipment that you need to do your job.  And, if your financial position allows, spend some extra money to get the equipment that ( while not absolutely mandatory ) will streamline your task and make your life typically much less stressed.

Buy a dependable, computerized marketing management system and let automation handle lead management and order accomplishment tasks for your business.

4. Engage a Personal Assistant ( s )

Identify tasks that are normal, repetitive and not among your core processes.  Think about outsourcing them to a personal admin (which is much more reasonable than you might think).  Candidates for outsourcing are article marketing, web design, SEO, backlinking, lead follow-ups, etc.

5.  Establish a Support Network

Working from home can become a very lonesome activity.  Build a powerful support group – this should be a group of associates with whom you connect via the internet (e.g, forums, chat rooms ) or a local group in your community or church.  The most important thing is to stay in regular contact with people who are crucial to you – and who can share what you’re going through as an entrepreneur.

6.  Control Your Feelings

Don’t expect miracles or overnight success.  Build a relationship with a mentor or friend who can help you set practical objectives and expectations – and help you stay goal oriented when things don’t go quite the way you want them to go. An online, or work-at-home business, is just that – a business.  As such it requires a continuing supply of purchasers and products and vendors, etc.  Each and every one of those presents another opening for a problem to happen, inflating your daily stress levels – like the characteristic nine-to-five position.

7. “Chunk-It”

Your great and ambitious strategies may seem impressive, but taken in total, they can be very overwhelming and frightening ( e.g., “I need to be a millionaire” or “I want to retire in 5 years”).  The best thing to do with such optimistic goals is to “chunk them,” i.e, break them down into much smaller, more manageable bites and then create a plan to achieve each of those subordinate goals.

8.  Eat Nutritional Foods

Eat a healthy, nutritious diet rich in fruit and vegetables.  Reduce or eliminate caffeine ( coffee, black and green tea, cola drinks, and chocolate ).

9.  Workout

Working out alleviates stress, increases oxygen to the brain, and gives a a brief interlude from intense situations.

10.  Rest & Recreate

Try to book time everyday to slow down and do something that you enjoy, even if it is just for a couple of minutes.

One of the biggest advantages of a based work-at-home} business is that you are now your own chief – but that’s also one of the largest causes of stress in your life.  You are now the one individual who has to choose what tasks need to be done, when and by whom.
